Finally we got to see the result of our work on getting a release party together for our class site. As the head of event, I must say that I am happy with the result  and that we where able to release the site at an club as awesome as Movida. The event went on with lots of changes in the schedule, but I think the changes where handled nicely by Mathias and the others involved. It was fun to finally be rewarded for all the work during this module and to get in contact with the industry. I know that I am greatfull for the contacts I got at the party.

Thank you, both guests and fellow class mates, for a rememberable event.

LONDON BABY!

March 18th, 2009

We’re in london! i’m sitting in my hotel room typing my last blog entry for the making of visual crooks. feels great. the last few days have been the most stressful in my life. we got the webhost for the site on thursday last week, a couple of hours before our campaign site went live. it was insane stress levels but we pulled through and delivered! the pre-site was a huge success, it was like our own little 5 day big brother show, in 3 days we had around 300 members in the facebook group for the campaign site and it steadily increased, they wrote about us in BLT (Blekinge läns tidning) http://www.blt.se/nyheter/karlskrona/kronohaktet-ater-i-bruk(1213733).gm#articleimage-popup the morning paper in Blekinge. we were featured on several forums and blogs and even on an internet radio at www.hamsterpaj.net. everything is looking good and now i’m writing my speech for tomorrow night and markus from design is next to me rendering a instructional video i will be speaking next to during the release. a bit nervous but i think it will be fine. i hope. :) now the official Visual Crooks group is released on facebook, go join! right, see everyone at the release tomorrow, i’m going to go have a pint of cold, nice british ale!

Work, work, work!

March 15th, 2009

The project is in its final stages and everything is slowly but surely taking form. We are all working very hard and everybody’s doing their best to add what competence they have to the site. I, personally, have even got to try out some 3D-modelling for the first time! I must say it was rather challenging, but plenty of fun. Everybody’s running around like busy bees to make this work, but in the end I am sure it will. And it will be grand.

March 11 energy is coming back.

March 11th, 2009

We have gotten a couple of sponsors! And we will be featured in Computer Arts and Cap & Designs magazines, things are looking good! We’re still working on getting a webhost but i’m sure we will manage to get one in time. We have contacted a few different ones. Energy is starting to flow back in the groups again as things are starting to get ticked off the to-do lists. I feel confident now that this project is on time again, tickets to london and a hotel is booked now, flying out on the morning of the 18th of March. Oh and we got one of the coolest places in London as our venue! Movida club. check it out at www.movida-london.com looks like an awesome place. next time i write here will be the day before the release of the site while i’m in london. seeya until then.

Down to the last dot

March 10th, 2009

So, the road for our copy group, that has been leading us trough this journey is nearly ending. None of us has been struck by writers cramp, although we’ve been forced to really challenge ourself by writing a wide spread of compositions. Personally I’m proud of the group, what we’ve produced and how we’ve done it. This much thanks to our dedicated boss, tutor, master, slavedriver etc. Tove Svensson. Together we’ve composed press releases and invites, facts and fictions, but it’s not over until the thin lady (Tove) sings, though, and maybe the last week has got some surprises for us!

This is the end of the line.

The eventgroup is working hard!

March 6th, 2009

We are working hard in the event group, and it’s kind of hectic right now. We have found a venue in London which is looking good, now we just have to get that positive answer we all want.

Next post will be more fulfilling, but right now we are all under alot of pressure and i dont have too much time for this.

10-4 over.

March 4 struggles

March 4th, 2009

Financial crisis is the word of the year! it is extremely hard to find sponsors for a project like this and i’m starting to get really really worried about the planned release party in london. we have already sent out press messages saying we will have it in london but it’s looking really dark right now… still trying though and i’m certain we WILL make this happen. if we want it bad enough we will get it done. that’s all for me right now. off to make more phone calls…

We are the cricket

March 3rd, 2009

The life of a copywriter is good these days, at least in our project. Actually, I almost feel a bit sorry for the guys tearing their hair off, drinking ten cups of coffee a day and generally looking like shit, just to keep the site rolling. It’s not like our roles in the project is easy or brief, though, we’re just that good.

Neither is our roll of less importance. Rather the other way around. Text equals content. Content equals soul. You can call us Mr. Conscience. Sure Design does an awesome job with the looks and the makeup on the site and Tech are Gepetto himself, putting all the parts together. This is all great, a beautiful wooden puppet with agile parts.

Without the Copywriters, however, that’s all you get. What we do is turning that wooden puppet into a real boy.
